Trump will reportedly appoint Belichick to White House sports council

The Donald Trump-Bill Belichick bromance appears to be going strong. President Trump will appoint the Patriots’ head coach to his Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, per Axios. The group, which prioritized nutrition during the Obama administration, will reportedly focus on encouraging kids to play sports.

General manager John Lynch took defensive end Solomon Thomas, inside linebacker Reuben Foster and cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon with the first three picks of his first draft in 2017. They are joined by fifth-round tight end George Kittle as projected second-year starters in ’18.

That’s pretty good immediate help from a 10-pick haul, with major help from trading down from No. 2 overall. In this year’s NFL free agency, Garoppolo saw the team add center Weston Richburg and running back Jerick McKinnon to be key parts of Kyle Shanahan’s offense. The big splash, however, came on defense in signing cornerback Richard Sherman soon after he was released by the rival Seahawks.

Maybe it ends up being a more structured offense with less playground potential and that’s better for Dak Patrik Walker of 247 Sports and I discuss just that on Friday’s Pick Six Podcast but at the end of the day, you need to have talent around your quarterback.giants_147

FirstEnergy Stadium has been the home to the Cleveland Browns since they entered the league again back in 1999. It replaced Cleveland Stadium, which has stood on the same site from 1931 to 1996.

It now looks like the team is looking to either substantially renovate FirstEnergy or move into a new venue in downtown Cleveland at some point in the not-so-distant future.

We’re excited for the opportunity to be part of the conversation about downtown re-development, co-owner Dee Haslam said, via ESPN. We should be part of the conversation in a bigger way, and I think we will be.

The Kansas City Chiefs have added yet another running back to an already crowded backfield.

Former Arizona Cardinals running back Kerwynn Williams is signing a one-year deal with K.C., a source told NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. Williams reportedly had “multiple options” but chose the Chiefs because of the “fresh start” it represented.

Despite Bryant’s decrease in production over the years, the quarterback will miss the veteran presence, who leaves a wide receiver room now populated by the likes of Allen Hurns , Terrance Williams , Deonte Thompson and Cole Beasley . It’s hard to replace a franchise legend and Dallas’ all-time leader in touchdown receptions (73), something Prescott is well aware of.

“He’s a great player. He did a lot of great things for us,” Prescott said of Bryant. “He was a guy, man-to-man, you go to. At this point, we’ve got to figure that out with the guys we’ve got I’m sure we’ll go after guys in the draft or free agency. All I can do is continue to get better at my job.

“Dez is going to be a hard guy to replace. He’s a talented guy. He will be missed.”

“Their top three choices are Darnold, Saquon Barkley and Bradley Chubb,” an unidentified NFL executive told NJ Advance Media. “They are debating Barkley vs. Chubb, because they need an edge-rusher, but the scouts love Barkley.”

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen is projected by most to be the top quarterback taken and certainly is expected to go in the early part of the first round April 26. However, even if he’s available, the Giants have no intention of selecting Rosen.

“If Darnold is available, they’re taking Darnold,” the NFL talent evaluator said. “They don’t like Rosen.”

As a junior, Rosen, 21, threw for 3,717 yards and 26 touchdowns with 10 interceptions in 11 games last season for UCLA, while Darnold, 20, finished 2017 with 26 touchdowns and 13 picks as a redshirt sophomore at USC.seahawks_123
